Company profile of Württembergische Versicherungs AG

Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG has a very long tradition going back to 1833. Operating under the name "Allgemeine Rentenanstalt zu Stuttgart (ARA)" at the time, it was the first company in Germany to engage in annuity assurance business.


In 1991, when the Württembergische insurance group was formed, ARA became Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG. After the merger of Wüstenrot and Württembergischer, Wüstenrot Lebensversicherung was integrated in Württembergische Lebensversicherung in the year 2000. The pension fund company, ARA Pensionskasse, was then established in 2002 as a 100% subsidiary of Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG. 
In 2007, Karlsruher Lebensversicherung AG merged with Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG.
Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG is the eighth largest life assurance company in Germany. Together with its sales partners, it offers life assurance and annuity assurance products. ARA Pensionskasse offers products in the area of corporate pension schemes.
